Interventions

Intervention1: low intensity pulsed ultrasound: A active ultrasound device will be applied for 20 minutes daily on the contralateral study side during the active phase of routine orthodontic treatment

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria 1 Age 18years to 30 years 2 Patients indicated for extraction of all first premolars 3 Healthy periodontium and intact root morphology 4 No prior orthodontic treatment 5 Good oral hygiene and systemic health

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria 1 Systemic diseases or drugs affecting bone metabolism 2 History of dental trauma or periapical pathology on study teeth 3 Pregnancy or lactation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Net volumetric change in root surface resorption craters (mm ) during active force application and early biological response phase between intervention and control sides. Timepoint: Baseline, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Correlation between coded quantitative root surface measurements and gingival crevicular fluid biomarker trends Timepoint: 4 weeks and 8 weeks.
