Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Married women aged 18-45 years 2. Patients who will give consent for the study 3. Women with homogenous, grayish-white discharge 4. Patients diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis by AMSEL criteria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who will refuse to give consent for the study 2. Pregnant and lactating women 3. Patients with any undiagnosed abnormal vaginal or uterine bleeding, ulceration and genital malignancy 4. HIV, HbsAg and HCV positive patients 5. Patients who used contraceptives within 3 months before enrollment 6. Patients with systemic or metabolic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, impaired renal and hepatic functions

1. Change from baseline to day 25th in the Amsel s diagnostic criteria 2. Change from baseline to day 25th in the Gram staining. Timepoint: 24 days
