Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria Caregivers 1. Must be a family member of schizophrenic patients. 2. Who have taken care of schizophrenic patients for more than 3 years 3. Who have little or no burden, mild to moderate burden and moderate to severe burden (score 40-60) 4. who have extreme stress 5. who are very ill

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria Care givers 1. who are diagnosed to have psychiatric illness and who are diagnosed to have sensory dysfunction 2. who are not interested to participate in the study and caregivers who do not read or write English and Tamil 3. who are having perceived severe burden (score >60) 4. who have no stress 5. who are very healthy

MeasureTime frame
Self-regulation towards Health Promotion will be enhanced. Caregivers who are explored their health-related behavior and lifestyle are expected to adopt healthy lifestyle practices.Timepoint: The outcome of nurse led mutual support group program on perceived burden and self-empowerment among caregivers of schizophrenic patients which will be assessed after a period of 2nd and 4th months of intervention.

To evaluate the effectiveness of Nurse Led Mutual Support Group Program on perceived burden & self empowerment among caregivers of schizophrenic patients between study & control group 2. To correlate the mean differed scores of perceived burden & self-empowerment among caregivers of schizophrenic patients in study & control group. 3. To associate the selected background variables of caregivers with mean differed scores of perceived burden & self empowerment of schizophrenic patients in study & control group 4. To associate the selected background variables of schizophrenic patients with mean differed scores of perceived burden & self empowerment among caregivers in study & control group Timepoint: Ist day pre-test 2nd month post test - I 4th month post test - II The Multimedia training session includes education & family support will be given weekly 2 hours for four consecutive weeks
