Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) age more than 18 years 2) patients undergoing elective CABG surgery 3) ASA IV and below

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) patient not willing to participate 2) allergic to opioids 3) valve involvement 4) congenital abnormalities 5) Arrythmia or dysarthria or patients on temporary or permanent pacemaker 6) patients requiring inotropic support during course of surgery or on IABP 7) Redo surgery

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effects of Iv remifentanyl 0.5mcg/kg given over 1 min for induction followed by continuous infusion of 0.1 to 0.5mcg/kg/min titrated for blunting the hemodynamic response in patients with low EF (less than or equal to 30%) and normal EF(more than or equal to 40%) from induction to sternotomyTimepoint: HR, SBP, DBP and MAP will. be measured at 1) baseline 2) every 30secs from induction till intubation, thereafter every 5 mins till 2 mins prior to incision, then every 30 secs till sternotomy.
