Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: After taking informed written consent, patients aged between 18 and 60 years, American Society of Anesthesiologists class I and II, with a normal airway, undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation were included in the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patient s refusal, emergency surgeries, obese individuals with BMI more than 30kg/m2, Mallampati grading more than 2, anticipated difficult intubation requiring more than 15 seconds for intubation or more than two attempts at laryngoscopy, patients with allergy to Dexmedetomidine, taking medicines that affect the heart rate such as Beta blockers, Clonidine, Gabapentin, Pregabalin and pregnant patients are excluded from the study.
