Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) Mouth breathing children of 6 to 12 year old b) Children with no systemic illness c) Children with no history of dental impressions previously made. d) Classified under Brodsky s tonsillar hypertrophy grades I to IV

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) Children with neurological disorders or developmental delays. b) History of tonsillectomy or other oropharyngeal surgery. c) Use of anti-anxiety, sedative, or gag reflex-suppressing medications. d) Children with acute upper respiratory infections or chronic sinusitis. e) Children with extreme dental anxiety or behavioural management issues requiring pharmacological intervention.

MeasureTime frame
The GPI will be used to objectively assess the severity of the gag reflex during impression-taking. It is a standardized scale that ranges from: Grade 1: Obtunded GR proposed treatment successful Grade 2 Partially controlled GR treatment possible but occasional gagging Grade 3 Partially controlled GR but frequent gagging; treatment was part completed Grade 4:Inadequately controlled GR; gagging occurred regularly; treatment unable to be completed Grade 5 GR severe no treatment possible Timepoint: T0 At Baseline Before intervention gag reflex assessment Brodsky s scale T1 During procedure with Stress Ball Distraction Washout Period of 1 week Between interventions T2 During procedure with Ear Plug Temporal Tap with audio-visual aid—
