Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA Physical Status II to IV Radiologically confirmed proximal femoral fracture Planned surgery within 48 hours of trauma Informed consent from patient or legally authorised representative

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Documented dementia or MMSE less than 20 Major psychiatric illness or substance abuse Chronic opioid use of more than 30 morphine milligram equivalents per month) Refusal or contraindication to regional anaesthesia Severe hepatic or renal failure Preoperative delirium
