Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Proportion of normothermic axillary readings (36.5-37.5degree celsius)Timepoint: outcome will be assessed after 72hours of observation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of hypothermia temperature less than 36.5 degree celsius Incidence of hyperthermia temperature more than 37.5 degree celsius Mean diffrence in the axillary temperature readings (reference standard) during the first 72 hours of NICU admission between the two groups Agreement between axillary temperature & displayed warmer or incubator temperature in both groups Survival untill discharge Late onset neonatal sepsis defined as systemic infection occurring in neonate after 72 hours of life, caused by bacterial or other pathogens & associated with clinical signs of sepsis with a positive blood culture Skin injury defined as damage to the integrity of the skin ranging from superficial epidermal disruption to deeper tissue involvementTimepoint: Outcome will assessesd after 72 hours of observation
