Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients admitted for hip fracture surgery 2. Age: above 18 years 3. ASA Grades I to III
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. infections at the block site 2. coagulopathy 3. contraindications to local anaesthetics 4. inability to understand VAS, diabetic neuropathy or 5. neurological deficits in the lower limb
