Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients admitted for hip fracture surgery 2. Age: above 18 years 3. ASA Grades I to III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. infections at the block site 2. coagulopathy 3. contraindications to local anaesthetics 4. inability to understand VAS, diabetic neuropathy or 5. neurological deficits in the lower limb

We hypothesise that the PENG block will provide superior postoperative functional outcomes due to its reduced motor blockade effect compared to the SIFI block, allowing early mobilisation and recoveryTimepoint: At Baseline and At 24 hour postoperatively
