Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who are willing to participate in the study will be included. Patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease confirmed through modern diagnostic investigations will be selected. Those having blood serum creatinine levels between 1.1 to 5 mg per deciliter for females and 1.2 to 5 mg per deciliter for males along with blood urea levels ranging from 41 to 100 mg per deciliter will be included. Chronic patients of diabetes mellitus with fasting blood sugar up to 140 mg per deciliter and postprandial blood sugar up to 200 mg per deciliter or hypertension with blood pressure less than or equal to 150 over 100 mmHg will also be considered. Additionally only patients who are clinically stable and fit to undergo detailed clinical as well as Ayurvedic examination will be included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who require dialysis are excluded. Those with a blood serum creatinine level of more than 5 mg per deciliter or a blood urea level greater than 100 mg per deciliter are also excluded. Patients suffering from chronic kidney disease with multiorgan failure and a glomerular filtration rate less than 60 ml per minute are not included in the study. Hypertensive patients with blood pressure greater than 150 over 100 mmHg and patients with diabetes having fasting blood sugar more than 140 mg per deciliter or postprandial blood sugar more than 200 mg per deciliter are excluded. Patients in the fourth and fifth stages of chronic kidney disease, that is terminal stage CKD, are not included. Pregnant or lactating women are excluded. Patients on immunosuppressive therapy for organ transplantation are not considered. Patients who are unwilling or unable to participate or provide consent, as well as those with cognitive impairment preventing proper history taking, are also excluded from the study.
