Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the emergence time from anaesthesia in patients receiving propofol based target controlled TIVA and sevoflurane based inhalational anaesthesia in microlaryngeal surgeriesTimepoint: At the end of surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To observe & compare haemodynamic changes during surgery along with interventions provided & to compare: Number of episodes of significant haemodynamic fluctuations (20% deviation from baseline values) in the intraoperative period & duration of each episodeTimepoint: Before during & after surgery;Number of such episodes which received clinical intervention & the type of clinical interventionTimepoint: During surgery;Haemodynamics during emergence from anaesthesia specifically heart rate & Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP)Timepoint: Before during & after surgery;Number of episodes of coughing or bucking during emergenceTimepoint: After surgery;Aldrete score after 1 hour in Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU)Timepoint: 1 hour post surgery
