Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA Grade 1 or 2 2. Patient undergoing Elective Endoscopic Sinus Surgery under General Anesthesia 3. Hemodynamic Stability SBP more than or equal to 100mmhg and HR more than or equal to 60 beats per minute

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Uncontrolled hypertension 2. Current use of beta blockers, calcium channel blockers or any other antihypertensives 3. Known hypersensitivity to clonidine or metoprolol 4. Severe renal, hepatic, respiratory disease , or uncontrolled diabetes mellitus 5. Pregnancy or Breastfeeding mother

MeasureTime frame
To assess efficacy of oral clonidine versus oral metoprolol for optimizing surgical field in Functional endoscopic sinus surgeryTimepoint: Boezaart Average Category Scale score will be recorded every 30 minutes from start of surgery- 30,60,90,120 minutes until completion of surgery.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the intraoperative hemodynamic parameters - Heart Rate, Systolic BP, Diastolic BP, Mean Arterial Pressure, recovery profile- extubation & recovery time, & the incidence of any other side effectTimepoint: Hemodynamic parameters recorded at baseline , post intubation & every 15 minutes intraoperatively until end of surgery.
