Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1: Patients of both sexes, diagnosed with depression according to DSM 5 criteria, between 18 years to 45 years, and who provide consent. 2: Minimum education: 5th Standard 3: Age and sex-matched healthy controls 4: Recruit female patients in follicular phase

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1: History of other neuropsychiatric disorders or chronic medical conditions. 2: History of alcohol and tobacco or substance abuse. 3: History of any motor disorder 4: Pregnant females and those taking contraception. 5: Hearing defect: A tuning fork test will be done to check hearing

To compare EEGs during rest and sensory-motor testing in patients with depression and healthy controls. Timepoint: Baseline
