Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the impact and effectiveness of rice fortification in the study districts (Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh) over a continuous 3-year period on haemoglobin, anaemia, iron deficiency anaemia and micronutrient status (iron, vitamin B12, folate, c-reactive protein) among adolescent females (15-19 years) and apparently healthy, non-pregnant, non-lactating women (between 20 and 49 years).Timepoint: Baseline Assessment will be undertaken at the beginning of the year 1 and Endline assessment will be undertaken at the end of the year 3 in uttarpardesh and chattisgarnh where as in Andra Pradesh

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
a. To evaluate enablers and barriers within the household in the uptake of fortified rice, a qualitative study. b. To evaluate the nutrient gap and diet diversity in the studied regions. c. To estimate at household, the levels of fortificants in the rice. d. Understand the causes of anaemia & how fortification will fill the gap.Timepoint: Baseline Assessment will be undertaken at the beginning of the year 1 and Endline assessment will be undertaken at the end of the year 3 in uttarpardesh and chattisgarnh where as in Andra Pradesh
