Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Adults aged 18 to70 years 2 Presenting with an acute insect bite ie within 24 to 48 h of onset 3 The presence of local symptoms at the bite site includes redness, swelling, pain, burning sensation, or itching 4 Mild to moderate cases having swelling 3mm to 30mm NRS score 1 to 6 and Subjective assessment score less than or equal to 7

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Patients on regular anti-inflammatory, antihistaminic, immunosuppressive, or systemic corticosteroid medications. 2 Signs of secondary infection at the bite site. 3 Active dermatological conditions at the site of bite e.g., eczema, psoriasis, chronic ulcers. 4 History of systemic allergic reaction.

The development of Shigrupunarnavadi Gel is effective in reducing or resolving swelling and subjective assessment scores compared to the control.Timepoint: Baseline, day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4 , day 5

MeasureTime frame
Higher patient satisfaction, greater ease of use, better cosmetic acceptability, and improved adherence to treatment in the gel group compared to the lepa group, as measured by the Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire.Timepoint: Baseline, day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4 , day 5
