Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of both sexes aged 18 to 45 years with bilateral melanin pigmentation associated with maxillary and or mandibular anterior region with score greater than or equal to 2 according to Oral pigmentation index Dummet 1966 and are mentally sound to answer the visual analog scale score and had not taken any type of analgesic drugs, anti inflammatory drugs, or tranquilizers for one day before the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients allergic to the meloxicam drug or patch material or zinc oxide Patients with any systemic diseases. Women who are pregnant and lactating. Smokers. Patients with systemic conditions or those on medications that can alter gingival pigmentation.
