Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 70 patients age 18-60 years of either sex of ASA I and II posted for orthopedic anterior cruciate ligament surgery under subarachnoid block.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients having hyper sensitivity or allergy to local anesthetic, bleeding disorder, infection at site of block, pregnant and lactating females, patient with pre-existing peripheral neuropathy, patient who are already taking opioids.

MeasureTime frame
To note the duration of post operative analgesia using visual analog scale(VAS) in both groups up to 48 hours of surgery.Timepoint: up to 48 hours of surgery.—

MeasureTime frame
1. The site, whether it is medical, lateral or upper side of knee 2. The amount of rescue analgesia required 3. The quadriceps muscle strength at 24 hours of surgery using the quadriceps of strength test. 4. Patient satisfactory score. 5. Surgeon satisfactory score 6.
