Inclusion criteria: 1. Age more than 18 year, 2. Suspected or confirm sepsis according to sepsis 3.0 criteria

MeasureTime frame
To determine the association between baseline serum LDL-cholesterol levels measured at presentation to the medical emergency and 14-day all-cause mortality in adult patients fulfilling Sepsis-3 criteria.Timepoint: 14 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the correlation between baseline serum LDL-cholesterol levels and the severity of organ dysfunction as assessed by the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score.Timepoint: none;To assess the predictive value of baseline LDL-cholesterol for progression to septic shock within the first 72 hours of hospital admission.Timepoint: 3 days;To compare the prognostic performance of LDL-cholesterol with established biomarkers (procalcitonin and C-reactive protein) and clinical scoring systems (qSOFA) for predicting mortality in patients with sepsis.Timepoint: none
