Intervention1: Calcium with Vitamin D3 and Egg Shell Membrane: One group will receive 500mg of Calcium with Vitamin D3 and Natural Egg Shell Membrane supplement orally once daily for 12 weeks Control

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women aged 45 to 70 years who are postmenopausal (defined as no menstruation for at least 12 consecutive months) Clinically diagnosed with Osteoarthritis of the knee and/or hip based on ACR (American college of rheumatology) criteria or radiographic evidences Experiencing joint pain or stiffness for at least 3 months prior to enrolment Able to walk independently (with or without assistive devices) Willing to refrain from using other joint health supplements Able to provide written informed consent and comply with study procedures WOMAC score and SF-36 score indicating mild to moderate symptoms and quality of life

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Premenopausal women or women who have undergone menopause within past 12 months. Use of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or corticosteroids within past 3 months. Current use of supplements or medications specifically targeting joint health, such as glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, collagen within past 30 days. Allergy or hypersensitivity to egg or egg-derived products. Presence of other inflammatory joint disease such as gout or psoriatic arthritis. History of recent joint surgery or planned joint replacement during the study period. Uncontrolled chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension or cardiovascular disease. Active cancer or a history of malignancy within past 5 years (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer)

To evaluate the efficacy of egg shell membrane supplementation in reducing joint pain and improving functional mobility in postmenopausal women with arthritis.Timepoint: 12 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the anti-inflammatory effects of egg shell membrane through bio-markers such as C- reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin levels. To determine the safety and tolerability of daily ESM supplementation in the target population. Timepoint: 12 weeks
