Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Patients Age 18 - 75 years and receiving hemodialysis for Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3 and Stage 4 (as diagnosed by KDIGO classification) for a minimum of 3 months . 2)Patients Age 18 - 75 years (age matched) ; patients of Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3 and Stage 4 patients who are not on hemodialysis .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of ocular trauma or intraocular surgery within the past 3 months . Presence of active ocular infection or inflammation at the time of examination. Patients with corneal opacity, dense cataract, or other media opacities preventing adequate fundus evaluation . Patient on topical drugs leading to ocular surface disease . Uncooperative patients . Patients with acute systemic illness or unstable hemodynamic status precluding safe examination.

Prevalence and pattern of ocular changes in CKD Stage 3 & 4 patients with hemodialysis versus without hemodialysis, including: Anterior segment changes (conjunctival pallor, corneal/conjunctival calcification, corneal edema) Posterior segment changes (diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, optic disc changes, macular involvement) Ocular surface abnormalities (dry eye disease parameters)Timepoint: It includes Systemic examination , hemodialysis details , lab parameters like Hb , Na , Ca , Ophthalmic examination which includes dry eye assessment , IOP , Va , Anterior segment , Posterior segment , fundus .

Comparison of specific ocular parameters between the two groups: Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) Intraocular pressure (IOP) Tear film parameters: Schirmer II test Tear break-up time (TBUT) Tear meniscus height Fluorescein staining Presence and grading of conjunctival and corneal calcification Association of ocular findings with systemic and dialysis-related factors, such as: Duration of CKD Duration and frequency of hemodialysis Blood pressure levels Biochemical parameters (urea, creatinine, calcium, phosphate, bicarbonate) Comparison of ocular changes between CKD Stage 3 and Stage 4 patients within each group (dialysis vs non-dialysis). Identification of asymptomatic ocular changes in CKD patients that may require early screening and intervention.Timepoint: It includes Systemic examination , hemodialysis details , lab parameters like Hb , Na , Ca , Ophthalmic examination which includes dry eye assessment , IOP , Va , Anterior segment , Posterior segment , fundus .
