Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing elective surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with coagulopathy. Having lidocaine or latex allergy.

Pain intensity during radial arterial cannulation, assessed using Numerical Pain Rating Scale and 4 category Verbal Rating ScaleTimepoint: 1 minute, 5 minutes

MeasureTime frame
1.Hemodynamic response to cannulation, including changes in Heart rate, Systolic blood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure, Mean arterial pressure 2.Immediate local adverse effects related to Lidocaine patch or EMLA cream 3.Time taken for successful radial arterial cannulationTimepoint: 1 and 5 minutes
