Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients willing to provide written informed consent for the study. 2. Diagnosed cases of GERD presenting with evidence of endoscopic findings. 3. Patients with uncomplicated GERD presenting with symptoms of heartburn and regurgitation, and a GERD-Q score more than or equal to 8 confirming clinical diagnosis. Endoscopy will be advised only in patients showing alarming symptoms (such as dysphagia, odynophagia, unintentional weight loss, gastrointestinal bleeding, anaemia or persistent vomiting) or if clinically indicated.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with advanced pathology of GERD or malignancy. 2. Cases suffering from uncontrolled systemic illness or life-threatening conditions. 3. Patients already taking acid suppressing medications or other treatment and not willing to leave it. 4. Pregnant and lactating women. 5. Patients who are immunocompromised. 6. Patients who are unwilling to take part and not giving consent for the study.
