Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18 years and above Patients admitted to HDU and ICU for greater than or equal to 48 hours Patients with clinical or laboratory evidence of systemic infection sepsis or risk factors associated with hematogenous spread such as central line indwelling catheter immunosuppression Patients who develop ocular symptoms such as eye pain redness vision changes or those who are identified through routine ophthalmologic screening

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with pre existing ocular infection or active endophthalmitis prior to ICU and HDU admission Patients with exogenous endophthalmitis following ocular trauma or surgery Patients with ocular malignancy or metastatic ocular lesions that mimic endophthalmitis
