Intervention1: NEUROMUSCULAR ELECTRICAL STIMULATION: The electric parameters used in treatments were: frequency: 50 Hz

stimulation intensity: maximal level tolerable . women were positioned supine, with 45 degree of hip and knee flexion. Two electrodes were placed in the suprapubic region and the other two electrodes
20 repetitions of 2-second contractions with 2 seconds of recovery
20 repetitions of 1-second contractions with 1 second of recovery
5 repetitions of 10-second contractions with 10 seconds of recovery followed by 5 repetitions of strong contractions together with stimulated cough with a 1-minute interval between. All the sessions

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women 18 years or older who were clinically diagnosed with new-onset stress urinary incontinence or stress-predominant urinary incontinence within 12 weeks after delivery following the definition recognized by international guidelines

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Women with symptoms of urgency urinary incontinence and mixed urinary incontinence were excluded Third- and fourth-degree perineal tears Diastasis recti abdominis and chronic pelvic pain Pre pregnancy stress urinary incontinence Previous pelvic surgery Malignant pelvic cancer Urogenital infections Receipt of formal pelvic floor muscle training in the past 5 years Psychiatric or neurological disorders that interfered with cooperation with treatment procedures or the pelvic floor muscle contraction Inability to contract the pelvic floor muscles Pelvic organ prolapse greater than grade ii Use of pacemakers and contraindications of neuromuscular electrical stimulation Subjects who are unsafe to exercise History of recurrent lower urinary tract infection Hysterectomy within 12 subjects who months Urogenital fistula Prior surgical intervention for urinary incontinence with the past 12 months were excluded from the study.
