Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Patients aged between 18 and 75 years 2)Patients with Diabetic Retinopathy. 3) Patients capable of undergoing Macular Function Tests reliably.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Patients who have undergone Macular laser. 2)Patients with macular disease other than Diabetic Retinopathy. 3)Patients taking pharmacological treatment that may affect Macular Function Tests (Chloroquine). 4) Patients with inadequate Panretinal Photocoagulation (one or more unlasered quadrants). 5) Patients who are known case of glaucoma.

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate macular function tests in patients with Diabetic Retinopathy who have undergone Panretinal Photocoagulation. To evaluate macular function tests in patients with Diabetic Retinopathy who have not undergone Panretinal Photocoagulation.. Timepoint: patients selected for study will undergo detailed ophthalmological examination, Macular Function Tests including colour vision, best corrected visual acuity , contrast sensitivity and Photostress Recovery Test. This will be followed by dilated fundus examination. Patients with Diabetic Macular Edema will undergo OCT as well.Fundus Fluorescein Angiography will also be done as and when required.Data will be collected at baseline as and when patient will be enrolled—

To compare the macular function tests in patients with Diabetic Retinopathy who have undergone Panretinal Photocoagulation & who have not undergone Panretinal Photocoagulation. Timepoint: patients selected for study will undergo detailed ophthalmological examination including Macular Function Tests including colour vision best corrected visual acuity contrast sensitivity & Photostress Recovery Test. This will be followed by dilated fundus examination.
