Inclusion criteria: Adult patients above 18 years admitted to Kasturba hospital Confirmed diagnosis of melioidosis Patients with or without comorbidities

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Below 18 years of age Pregnant or breast-feeding Inability to get consent of patient or next of kin

MeasureTime frame
Following vaccination, adaptive immune responses will be measured in mice. Given the intracellular nature of Bps, both T and B cell responses are expected to drive recognition and clearance. CD4+ and CD8+ T cell activity will be assessed alongside B cell activation and antigen-specific antibody production. Lymphocyte expansion will be measured via flow cytometry or ELISPOT. Cytokine profiles will also be analyzed to evaluate adaptive immune function and activation. Timepoint: Baseline, day 14 and day 28
