Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Patient aged 18 years or above diagnosed with primary unilateral or bilateral inguinal hernia 2)Fit for elective laparoscopic hernia repair under general anaesthesia 3)Willing to do either TAPP or TEP 4)Provided written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Recurrent inguinal hernia 2) Complicated hernia (e.g., strangulated, obstructed) 3) Previous lower abdominal surgery (in TEP group) 4) Unfit for general anesthesia 5) Refusal to participate 6)Pregnant population

MeasureTime frame
1.Postoperative pain measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) at 6, 24, and 48 hours postoperatively. 2.Duration of surgery (in minutes) from skin incision to closure. 3.Postoperative complications, such as: oSeroma oHematoma oWound infection oUrinary retention oVisceral or vascular injury 4.Length of hospital stay (in days) from the day of surgery to discharge. 5.Time to resume daily activities or return to work (in days). 6.Recurrence of hernia at 3- and 6-month follow-up visits Timepoint: 6 hours,24 hours,48 hours. 3 month and 6 month.
