Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects presenting with classical features of Amlapitta as per Ayurvedic texts. Age between 16-70 years. Both male and female patients were randomly selected without bias of social education, religious economic status, colour, caste, creed. Patients fit for Virechana Krama. Patients who agree to follow the study protocol and give consent for clinical trial Patients have symptoms for less than 5 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with anatomical abnormalities. Patient suffering from drug induced obesity. Patients have systemic disorders like severe Hypertension, Malignancy, Hepatic, Renal disorders, uncontrolled diabetes etc. Pregnant and lactating women.

Embracing classical Ayurvedic therapies, diet and regimen can play a fruitful role in reducing the diseases and reducing their pathogenesis. i. Virechana is the line of treatment in pitta dominant diseases. As katuki causes pitta virechan3 it will be effective. ii. Yastimadhu has Madhura rasa and sita virya. So, it pacifies amlata in amashaya and reduces pain4. Due to madhurata it can be used with katuki for improving taste for easy intake. Timepoint: 18 Months

MeasureTime frame
i. The Virechana Yoga consisting of katuki and yastimadhu will work better in the management of Amlapitta. ii. The Virechana Yoga will prevent in the recurrence of Amlapitta, provided the lifestyle management has been taken care of by the patient. iii. The Virechana yoga will help in the correction of malabsorption in the Annavaha srota. iv. The foresaid hypothesis of the present research work may shed a new light in the management of Amlapitta & prevention of its complications. Timepoint: 18 Months
