Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Participants will be married women in the age group between 18-40 years diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome as per Rotterdam criteria (annexure 2), fulfilling following 2 criteria: Oligoovulation / Anovulation assessed by follicular study with USG And Polycystic ovaries (total ovarian volume greater than 10 cm3) assessed with USG 2.Patients indicated for shodhananga snehapana and virechana as per Ayurvedic classical text books 3.Subject who are competent and willing to give consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients diagnosed with primary amenorrhea, malignancy, other endocrine disorders 2.Concurrent or previous use of oral contraceptive pills within last 3 months 3.Pregnancy and lactating mothers 4.Patients on concurrent medication for other systemic and chronic illness 5.Patients diagnosed with androgen producing adrenal tumor and other neoplastic growth 6.Patients diagnosed as DUB 7.Patients contra-indicated for snehapana and virechana as per Ayurvedic classical text books.

Mean changes in volume of ovary& ovulation assessed by follicular study with USGTimepoint: 0th day, 31st day, 91st day

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Mean changes in the duration, interval of menstrual cycle, amount of bleeding will be assessed by grading scale changes in BMI assessed by formula weight in kg/height in meter2Timepoint: before treatment with USG follicular study from 10th day of cycle on alternate days upto 21st day or till ovulation, in the subsequent cycle at the end of treatment period and after 90days in the next cycle.
