Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients within the age group of 15-30 years. 2. Patients with premolar extraction treatment plan and no active orthodontic force was provided 3. Patients with segmental canine retraction treatment plan. 4. Treatment plans which included the distal retraction of the maxillary canines; 5. General health is good, and the periodontium is healthy with no radiographic evidence of bone loss, no gingival inflammation, and a probing depth of 3 mm or less at the sites of the experiment; 6. With no history of antibiotic or anti-inflammatory drug use in the month preceding the study 7. The women who are not pregnant.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with history of orthodontic treatment. 2. En mass canine retraction. 3. Patients under medication (NSAIDs). 4. Osseous abnormalities. 5. Individuals with systemic illness. 6. Adverse habits, pregnancy. 7. History of drug therapy. 8. Those who underwent periodontal therapy in the preceding six months. 9. Any systemic diseases.
