Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of age 18 to 60 years of either sex. ASA physical status grade I and II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: b. Anticipated difficult airway (Mallampati grade III or IV) History of obstructive sleep apnea c. Facial deformities d. Morbid obesity e. Edentulous patient f. Patient requiring rapid sequence intubation g. Patient with raised intra abdominal pressure eg. ascites and pregnancy.

To assess efeectiveness of face mask ventiltion startegies in terms of Tidal volune,end tidal co2,oxygen saturation during induction of general anaesthesiaTimepoint: Time points will be noted at 0,1,2,3 minutes of muscle relaxant administration for assessment of outcome

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1 To assess the ease of mask ventilation. 2 To evaluate the incidence of air leak, gastric insufflation, or inadequate chest rise between the two techniques. To record any complications such as desaturation episodes, need for airway adjuncts (e.g. oral airway), or need for conversion to a different ventilation techniqueTimepoint: time point at 0,1,2,3 minutes after muscle relaxation
