Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects with the age group of 30-60years irrespective of gender and religion will be selected. Subjects who are willing to sign consent form voluntarily. Subjects with classical lakshana of Nidranasha Jrumbha (yawning) Angamarda (body pain) Tandra (drowsiness) Shirogaurava (heaviness of head) Akshigourava (heaviness of eyes) Jadyata (laziness) Glani(tiredness) Apakti(indigestion) DSM 5 criteria for diagnosis of Insomnia associated with one or more following symptoms: Difficulty in initiating sleep. Difficulty in maintaining sleep characterized by frequent awakenings or problem returning to sleep after awakenings. Early morning awakening with inability to return to sleep for a significant duration of time (at least 3 nights per week for at least 3months).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects with other sleep disorders. Subjects suffering from systemic disorders like uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, uncontrolled hypertension. Subjects with psychiatric conditions and cognitive impairment. Subjects with neurological disorders. Subjects with history of substance abuse or dependence. Subjects taking medication such as sedatives, hypnotics and stimulants. Subjects who are pregnant, lactating women.
