Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults more than or equal to 18 years ICU stay more than or equal to 24 hours ICU admission meeting MoHFW criteria Availability of transthoracic echocardiography within 48 hours of ICU admission

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Left ventricular EF less than 50 percent Moderate to severe valvular disease Significant arrhythmias or a pacemaker in situ Poor echo window quality Patient or legal surrogate refusal to participate Acute coronary syndrome at admission or during ICU stay

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To determine the prevalence of diastolic dysfunction in ICU patientsTimepoint: Diastolic dysfunction is measured within 24 hours of admission. Then correlation done accordingly

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the relationship of DD with: Duration of mechanical ventilation Weaning success or failure ICU length of stay Vasopressor/inotrope requirement Patterns of DD across various etiologies Timepoint: Measured throughout admission till discharge/death
