Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participant diagnosed with a Geriatric Depression Scale (long form) for a mild-moderate level of depression (score between 10-19). Participant must be between 65 to 84 years of age. Participant should be able to read and understand either English or Tamil. Participant must be capable of engaging in leisure activities. Cognitive screening within normal range (MMSE greater than or equal to 24).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Other diagnoses or co-existing diagnoses with depression. Age below 65 years and above 84 years. Individuals with severe cognitive impairments. Participants with visual difficulties were not included. Participants at risk of suicide tendency were not taken. General Self-efficacy scale above 35 range score was not taken. Participants with severe depression with a score of above 20 score were not taken.

General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES)Timepoint: The pre test data will be collected using General Self Efficacy scale at baseline prior to starting intervention. Post test data will be taken using same outcome measures after 12 intervention sessions or 4 weeks whichever earlier .
