Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Those wounds having minimum 2 or all symptoms of dushta vrana (infected wound) with Vedana (pain), Gandha (foul smell) , Strava (pus discharge) , Vaivarnya ( slough). 2.Wound size : 9 to 150 cm2 of any dimension of the wound. 3.Wound site : Wound on any site without malignancy. 4.All Infected wounds due to trauma & accident, with Known case of Diabetic Mellitus / HTN and Post- operative infected wounds.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Gangrenous wound. 2.Neo-plastic ulcer. 3.Burn, Arterial ulcer, Gout, Renal failure. 4.Liver failure. 5.Bed Sores. 6.Varicose ulcer. 7.HIV & HbsAg + Ve 8.Immuno-compromised patients.

To evaluate the efficacy of Udumbartwaksiddha Ghrit in management of Dushta Vrana (Infected Wound).Timepoint: Total 15 days treatment. Baseline (0 Day), 5th Day, 10th Day, 15th Day To observe the wound healing process on 5th Day, 10th Day, 15th Day

MeasureTime frame
1.To evaluate in terms of reduction of signs, symptoms and reduction of bacterial growth (to observe the reduction of bacterial growth, drug i.e. Udumbartwaksiddha Ghrita sensitivity along with pus culture & sensitivity will be done). 2.To assess the duration required for achieving healthy granulation in dushta vrana (infected wound) by Udumbartwaksiddha Ghrit and by Povidone Iodine ointment respectively. 3.To compare the efficacy of Povidone Iodine ointment with Udumbartwaksiddha Ghrit.Timepoint: Total 15 days treatment. Baseline (0 Day), 5th Day, 10th Day, 15th Day To observe the wound healing process on 5th Day, 10th Day, 15th Day
