Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: To design a prototype digital IV fluid rate monitor that integrates with standard IV sets. To incorporate real-time flow sensing and digital display features with alert mechanisms for irregularities. To assess the accuracy and reliability of the device in measuring IV fluid flow rates under controlled laboratory conditions. To compare device performance with conventional manual flow regulators and infusion pumps. To determine the potential of the device to reduce infusion-related errors and workload for healthcare staff. To explore applicability in low-resource and home-care settings as an affordable alternative to infusion pumps.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Infusions requiring programmed infusion pumps (e.g., vasoactive agents, insulin, heparin titration). Central venous, PICC, epidural, or intra-arterial infusions. Blood products, chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition. Need for rapid bolus/pressure infuser, severe hemodynamic instability.
