Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis as defined Grade I to Grade III of the Kellgren and Lawrence scale with average pain intensity above 4 as measured by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). 2)Patients having complaints of: Janusandhi shula ( Knee joint pain ) Janusandhi shotha ( Swelling of knee joint ) Akunchana prasaran kashtata (Restricted joint movement)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Aamvata ( Rheumatoid Arthritis ) 2)Vatrakta ( Gout ) 3)History of total knee replacement surgey. 4)Treatment with weak or strong opioid analgesics. 5)Complete loss of knee articular and ligament tear 6)Knee dislocation 7)Knee Injury. 8)Contact dermatitis.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction in pain intensity using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) in Knee Osteoarthritis (Janu sandhigata vata). Timepoint: 21 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in joint stiffness and physical function using the WOMAC Index in both groups and adverse effects monitored through patient self-reports , researcher observations and follow-up assessments at pre-defined intervals. Timepoint: 21 days
