Intervention1: Conventional SRP along with adjunctive use of a diode laser with a 445 nm wavelength: The two quadrants in the test group will undergo SRP along with an adjunctive use of a diode lase

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals with age range of 25 to 55yrs including both genders Individuals who are diagnosed with stage I and II generalized periodontitis as per the 2017 world workshop criteria Individuals with type II diabetes mellitus according to 2018 ICMR criteria Individuals with minimum 20 teeth present Individuals with no other systemic disease or condition

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who are smokers, individuals who have undergone any non-surgical or surgical periodontal treatment previously, individuals who have taken antibiotics in the last 6 months and pregnant and lactating women, individuals with extensive prosthetic appliances in the mouth, individuals undergoing orthodontic therapy will be excluded from the study.
