Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients between the age group 18 and 60 years, Patients having any five or more amongst the cardinal symptoms of Pandu Roga,Patients having Hb% less than 12 gm/dl and more than 8.00 gm/dl for females, Patients having Hb% less than 13 gm/dl and more than 8.00 gm/dl for males.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients suffering from systemic diseases like renal disorders, heart disease, cancer, acquired immune-deficiency syndrome, tuberculosis., hypertension, and having bleeding disorders 2. Any other type of anaemia except Iron Deficiency Anaemia. 3. Age 18 years and more than 60 years 4. Hb% level-below 8 gm/dl 5. Anaemia in a case of defective absorption due to gastrectomy, sprue syndrome etc. 6. Pregnant women and lactating mothers.

Primary Outcome- Improvement in - Hb level, PCV , RBC indices(MCV,MCH,MCHC), Reduction in TIBC, Serum Ferritin , Peripheral smear at the end of treatment periodTimepoint: day 0,30,60,90

MeasureTime frame
Secondary Outcome - Improvement in subjective clinical symptoms - Panduta, Daurbalya , Shrama , Bhrama , Hriddrava , Shwasa , improvement in agni bala , deha bala , varna and other Ayurveda Parameters. As Punarnava Mandoor is regarded as their standard control drug, the expected improvement in Hb level with the trial drug has been hypothesized to be around 2g/dl in patients.Timepoint: day 0, 30, 60 ,90
