Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Persons aged greater than 65 years with a diagnosis of Dementia as per icd 11 criteria. Accompanied by a reliable informant who has been staying for the last 6 months with the patient . Able to understand and communicate in English/Hindi/ Punjabi (either patient or informant).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with history of Co-morbid severe Mental Illness. Patients with Acute intoxication. Patients with Intellectual disability. Patients with any acute medical/ surgical or any unstable medical condition (including delirium) . Patients with severe hearing or visual impairments that hamper the clinical interview. Violent or aggressive patient at the time of assessment.

To determine the prevalence & pattern of BPSD in patients diagnosed with dementia.Timepoint: Baseline;To assess the severity of BPSD & examine its correlation with the degree of cognitive impairment in dementia patients.Timepoint: Baseline;To assess the quality of life in patients with dementia & to find associations with severity of BPSD.Timepoint: baseline;To assess the substance use in dementia & find association with frequency & severity of BPSD in dementia patients.Timepoint: baseline
