Intervention1: Dexmeditomedine: Intravenous Dexmedetomidine 0.7 microgram per kilogram body weight diluted in 20 ml normal saline and administered as infusion over 10 minutes completed before inductio

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of either sex posted for elective surgeries under general anesthesia requiring endotracheal intubation ASA Grade I and II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Drug allergy to the study drugs Patients with anticipated difficult airway Laryngoscopy time more than 20 secs Patients with a history of chronic hypertension diabetes hepatic disease or renal disease or on preoperative beta blockers and pregnant or lactating women coexisting cardiorespiratory disease
