Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patient aged between 18 to 60 years who have been receiving mechanical ventilation via endotracheal tube for an equal to more than 48 hours. Patients who will meet readiness-to-wean criteria and would be about to undergo a spontaneous breathing trial (SBT), as determined by the clinical team. Patients who provided informed consent (or their substitute decision-maker provided consent).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with a known neurological or neuromuscular disorder. Patients with Psychiatric and CNS disorders. Patients who already failed weaning and reintubated patients. Patients who have underwent major abdominal or thoracic surgery. Patients who are on a tracheostomy or diagnosed to have critical illness myopathy. Patients who do not provide informed and written consent.
