Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients attending psychiatric OPDs of Siddhartha Hospital Tumkur, Snehamanovikas Kendra Tumkur, Government hospital Tumkur. 2. Patients with current diagnosis of depression confirmed by registered psychiatrist. 3. Patients who meets the DSM -V criteria for mild or moderate or severe depression without psychotic symptoms. 4. Patients with recurrent depressive disorders (RDD) with present episodes of mild or moderate or severe depression without psychotic symptoms. 5. Patients who have been initiated with antidepressants treatment within last month 6. Patients who are able to read and write Kannada or English.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Depressive patients with major depressive disorder with psychotic symptoms 2.Depressive patients with co-morbid medical illness 3.Patients with depression elevated/moderate risk of suicide 4.Patients abusing drugs and alcohol abuse 5.Patients who have hearing and vision problems. 6.Patients with dementia 7.Patients who are on any other psychotherapy 8.Patients with any other concurrent psychotic illness.
