Interventions

Intervention1: Experimental group: It consists of eccentric training (ET) plus Maitland mobilization. ET of the rotator cuff consisting of eccentric exercises of supraspinatus and external rotators of
Karaby et al., 2025). Posterior and inferior Maitland glides will be given to the glenohumeral joint (Sharma et al., 2021). Control Intervention1: Control group: The exercises of the CG group consis

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male university athletes playing overhead competitive sports like volleyball, tennis, baseball, cricket, swimming, badminton, basketball for at least 6 hour a week. Shoulder impingement for at least 1 month. VAS pain rating less than or equal to 7 out of 10. Willing to commit to a 4-week physiotherapy program. Working language of English At least 2 out of 5 positive SIS diagnostic tests.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous shoulder dislocation or surgery. Bilateral shoulder pain. AC joint pathology. Cervical spine radiculopathy. NSAID medication use. Positive drop arm test for full thickness rotator cuff tear Malignant neoplasm History of rheumatic or chronic inflammatory disease.
