Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Generation of evidence to show that either or both Virechana karma and Lekhana Basti would provide similar results by demonstrating statistically significant decreases in obesity classification and rectifying gut microbe dysbiosis leading to improvements in metabolic efficiency using 16 S rRNA V3V4 Metagenomics Analysis. One of the two methods would be superior to the other. Timepoint: Patients will be evaluated before starting the treatment, after completion of treatment and during follow up visit after completion of Parihara Kala. For Virechana- 0th day,12-17th day depending upon number of days of Snehapana. For Basti- 0th day and 12th day.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Generation of in-depth analysed data on the different aspects of Virechana Karma, Lekhana Basti, obesity and Gut microbiota influence on obesity. Observing positive changes in stress levels, mood, and sleep patterns etc. contributing to improved quality of life by gut microbiota modulation. Timepoint: Patients will be evaluated before starting the treatment, after completion of treatment and during follow up visit after completion of Parihara Kala.
