Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Diffuse hair fall with positive hair pull test 2 Persons with serum ferritin between 30-40 ng/ml AND low Hb level (less than 13g/dL for males and less than 12g/dL for females) 3 Individuals not using any medicated or prescription shampoos, hair care products used to promote scalp hair growth for the entire duration of study 4 Participants willing to give informed consent 5 Willingness to not vary the normal daily routine and hair styling habits during the study period

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Known cases of seborrheic dermatitis, alopecia disease and scalp disorders such as scalp psoriasis and infection 2 known cases of other systemic illness or psychiatric conditions 3 Pregnant and lactating women 4 Participants who are on any drugs or supplements for hair loss during the last 3 months 5 Participants who are not taking any iron supplements for the past 2 weeks
