Intervention1: Chitosan infused absorbable gelatine sponge: Chitosan infused absorbable gelatine sponge will be placed in dry socket when patient presents to the department, and follow up will be done

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with dry socket or alveolar osteitis following tooth extraction. 2. Generally healthy individuals without significant systemic diseases that could affect wound healing. 3. Patients who provide informed consent to participate in the study. 4. Patients that have undergone Intra-Alveolar tooth extraction.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients on anticoagulant therapy or other medications that could interfere with hemostasis or wound healing. 2.Patients with known allergies to chitosan, gelatin, shellfish and other component. 3.Pregnant or breastfeeding women. 4.Patients who are unable or unwilling to comply with the study protocol and follow-up visits.

MeasureTime frame
Pain will be assessed using Visual analogue scale and healing will be assessed using modified healing scaleTimepoint: On 4th and 7th post operative day.
