Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Children aged between 9-16 years of age of either sex. 2. Children with clinical sign and symptoms of calcium deficiency. 3. Children with Serum calcium level less than 8.6mg/dl .
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Children with Serum calcium level smaller than 5mg/dl or vitamin D (smaller than 12ng/ml) deficiency. 2. Children with major systemic illness requiring hospitalization. 3. Children with pre-diagnosed severe mal-absorption disorders such as celiac disease, crohn s disease and lactose intolerance, which can significantly impact calcium absorption. 4. Children with any congenital anomalies or birth defects or genetic disorder or malignancy. 5. Children with severe malnutrition, making it difficult to isolate calcium deficiency. 6. Children who are under recent or ongoing use of high dose calcium supplements. 7. Any subject taking hormone replacement therapy which might affect bone metabolism.
