Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing elective or semi emergent abdominal, spine thoracic surgeries and lower limb surgeries requiring thoracic segmental spinal anesthesia. Adults aged 18-65 years. Informed consent provided for participation. No history of neurological disorders prior to the procedure.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with contraindications to spinal anesthesia (e.g., infection at the site, coagulopathy). 2. Previous spinal surgery or intervention. 3. Pregnant or lactating women. 4. Patients with significant comorbidities (e.g., cardiac or respiratory failure) that might confound outcomes. 5. Mentally obtunded adults.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome measure is finding out the incidence of appearance of any new neurological symptom / sign.Timepoint: 2, 90 and 180 days after the anaesthesia procedure .
