Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient with age group between 35 - 70 years have primary Knee OA. Patients presenting with 3 or more of the following symptoms Sandhishoola, Sandhishotha, Akunchana prasaranjanya Vedana, Sparsha Ashahyata, Sandhigraha, Sandhisphutan & other complaints mentioned in Ayurvedic texts like Charaka Samhita & Sushruta Samhita. Only those cases will be taken for study who will present with atleast three months knee joint pain complaint. Radiological change as per Grade I to Grade III of Kellegren & Lawrence diagnostic radiological scale.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient with age less than 35 years and more than 70 years. Grade IV Kellgren and Lawrence Radiological scale. Large osteophytes/ Marked narrowing of joint space, History of Trauma, Fractured joints, Surgical intervention, definite deformity of bone contour. Unstable cardiovascular disease and uncontrolled Diabetes mellitus II. Pregnant and lactating mother. Patient with secondary OA & with gross disability. Severe renal and hepatic disease that may interfere with the study.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The improvement in the patients will be assessed mainly on the basis of relief in the signs and symptoms of disease.Timepoint: 45 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The improvement will be assessed on the basis of changes in radiographic findings of Knee X ray and on the basis of grading in walking distance.Timepoint: 45 days
